22nd Week: Stretching My Belly and Catnaps July 27, 2006

I probably have a one pounder inside my belly. Im trying to measure my baby with one hand and it won’t probably be enough for a 7.6 inches (from head to buttocks)baby. I feel my belly has been stretching too hard I can’t even imagine myself four months after.
I’ll be seeing my doctor a week in advance for she’ll be taking two weeks vacation and we feel its the best thing to do than let those weeks past without checking my lil angel inside of me. I’m gonna check out with her as well if I could swim or do any form of occasional mild exercise. I don’t think Im having high risk pregnancy at all, I feel good except for occasional abdominal cramps on my right side.
Its been two days that I noticed myself taking an afternoon nap. I feel I have enough sleep at night and can’t figure out why I need to doze off between those hours at noon. Recently, I’m still wondering the gender of my baby. My sister who is also pregnant has confirmed their baby’s gender on her recent ultrasound. Its another girl in the family and we feel all excited. I realized that whatever my baby’s gender would be, I’ll be damn so happy as well. Because if its another girl, my eldest could share her everything to her–clothes, toys and gadgets, even the lil secrets a mom wouldn’t wanna know(please) when they grow up. If its a boy, he surely be a prince in every corner of our world. He’ll be damn so lucky for he will be the first grandson in the family in both side. I still feel so blessed and lucky to be surrounded by great friends and family. Im so thankful to God.
21st Week: External Sounds and Hiccups July 20, 2006

Im beginning to feel a little bit tired, a little hungry and a little uncomfortable much of the time. It is probably my way of adjusting to my growing belly. I’m beginning to cut my soda intake, and excess carbohydrates because I don’t have enough exercise to loosen my weight a bit. I still haven’t come up yet with a new program(exercise)that will suit my bulging belly and my appetite for food.
This week, I suspected that I’ll probably experiencing my baby’s hiccups for the first time. Yep, those little jerky motions I feel, his/her way of practicing the important task of breathing. The baby’s brain will begin to grow rapidly and could hear external sounds or movements that may roused her/him from sleep, thus, a sound of loud music or any machineries or even vibrations can stir my baby into activity. When it happens, Im sure he/she’ll roll over, kick and flutter. These moments are exceptional and may feel a little bit uncomfy when lying on bed, to ease me to falling asleep, I turn on my left side with one leg crossed over the other and a pillow between them. I find sleeping on my back increases my backache and discomfort.
2oth Week: Halfway To Giving Birth, Keeping Fit and Great Up to Delivery. July 13, 2006

Im just about midway to the birth of my baby. I feel nervous and excited like the first time. I wish I could share my feelings at this halfway point with other moms who are just beginning their pregnancy. Its a mixed emotions of having another baby– the delivery, holding and cuddling his/her fragile body into your arms, meeting of our eyes and bringing me into his/her innocent looks and cry. I just feel excited!
Im thinking of effective form of exercise during this pregnancy. I had swimming two days ago but I felt abdominal cramps afterward but I’ve heard that swimming is best for pregnant women. I’ll try though to have a short walk as walking is safer I guess at this very moment. For a couple of days, I also had difficulty in breathing, sometimes I feel out of breath, that is probably because my growing baby is causing my internal organs to press against my lungs. When it happens, I lay down the bed or couch and slow down a bit until I catch my breath.
My baby now is probably 5 to 6.4 inches, and his/her movements is also big enough for me to be able to tell whether he/she’s awake or asleep. Based on my experience, after a meal or snack, he/she’ll jitter and flutter hard for few times like those who are awakened to eat after slumber. When the movements are most frequent, I’ll call hubby or my daughter to touch my belly and feel how it moves. Its really fun to watch as they wait and anticipate to feel the baby’s movement.
Fifth Prenatal Visit: Bigger Belly and Frequent Kicks for the Second July 10, 2006

This was the quickest prenatal visit I had so far. Since its summer, I had to bring my daughter with me on my fifth prenatal visit. My Ob-gyn was so happy to see my eldest whom she delivered six years ago. She asked my daughter if she still remembers her and of course, my daughter said no. Then she added, “I was the one who grabbed your head when you’re still a baby” and she asked my daughter what does she wants, boy or girl, and my daughter said “boy and girl”. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be having twins as the ultrasound showed only single fetus. Anyway, she made funny joke with my daughter that if its a boy, will she be able to bring it home and my daughter said yes. Hahaha. She is so adorable, she has no idea that having a boy in the family means a lot! In my side of the family and my husband’s side, the grandkids are all girls, so having a boy in the family means a lot to their respective father, grandparents and to everyone else. He will surely be damn so lucky!
I gained 5 lbs since my last prenatal visit. She asked me to watch my weight. I felt my belly is bigger than the previous when compared at this month. She told me that its perfectly fine and true because this is my second pregnancy. I also noticed more often kicks and flutter compared with my first which she told me that is just normal. At least, I won’t ever again doubt about how big the baby is at this very moment. Im also worried with my weight because I don’t wanna jeopardize both our health for wrong diet.
My daughter heard baby’s heartbeat for the first time and she was very happy. The heartbeat sounds normal and I’ll be seeing her again after 5 weeks. My Blood pressure is quite low but normal 108/60.
19th Week: Odd Pregnancy Symptoms, My Bellybutton and Travelling July 6, 2006

There are times that I become more and more sensitive to smells, some can overwhelm me every now and then. Sometimes, I come across a certain smell that send me running to the toilet. Lately, when I missed my breakfast and cooks food with empty stomach, I turned nauseous and throws-up. It oddly happens and Im still thankful for that.
I have noticed that my bellybutton is changing. I once had an “inee” and the expansion of my uterus is pressing against my bellybutton making it stick out. I’ve got no problems with that because its all part of having this great experience in my life.
I’m still running some errands and completing my projects I’ve been meaning to finish before it gets too late. When I had my first baby, I’ve realized and knew that I wont have to keep my hands and my days enough to attend when my new baby comes. So its better to start thinking of finishing at least some of it and not wait when the baby arrives. So thats what keeping me busy plus my daughter’s summer activities, and prenatal check-ups and bloodworks every now and then. I’m glad that my body could cope with the stress and some strenuous activities both in and out of the house.
I had wonderful week with friends and family out of town. I find it very relaxing to take a walk and breathe for a moment of relief after some hormonal imbalances and discomfort. I can still travel by far, it is just sad that I find myself uncomfortable for trips longer than four hours. I was planning to have long drive this week to see some friends but after finding myself tired after few hours of travel, I decided not to come. Im sure they’ll understand. Its what I pay for having another bunch of joy in the family. I still feel wonderful for all the support that I get from this pregnancy and still excited to see another angel.
